"BudgetCheetah has assembled top notch script analysts. I'll read anything they recommend through their script coverage service. End of story."

- Bob Sobhani
Literary Manager, Magnet Management

Screenplay coverage is how Hollywood finds you.

Literary agents, development executives and producers don't have time to read the more than 200 screenplays registered at the Writer's Guild everyday (that's 75,000 new screenplays per year and that's just those registered at the Writer's Guild). Instead, they hire readers to skim your screenplay and write up a report known as coverage. These script coverage reports are used to determine whether your screenplay will be considered for development or not.

You only get one chance to make an impression. BudgetCheetah's detailed script analysis will help you develop your story before it counts.

Get your break here.

BudgetCheetah has developed The Network: development executives, agents and managers who have agreed to read screenplays that we recommend. If your screenplay meets the criteria of one of the companies in The Network, with your permission, we'll pass it on to them with a recommendation. What happens from there is up to them.

Our coverage goes beyond the standard.

Standard studio coverage is broken down into only two sections: synopsis and comments. BudgetCheetah's Premier Coverage is broken down into five sections:

  1. Story Evaluation - A synopsis of your story.

  2. First Impressions - What works, what doesn't and why.

  3. Development Ideas - How your screenplay can be improved.

  4. Analyst Advice - What you should do next.

  5. "Traffic Light" - One of three evaluations based on whether it meets the criteria of one of the companies in The Network:

"Red" (Stop. Your script is not what The Network is looking for.)
"Yellow" (Slow down. Your script needs a rewrite.)
"Green" (Go! Your script meets the criteria of a company in The Network.)

Our script analysts are the best in the industry.

BudgetCheetah has very strict hiring guidelines for our script analysts. Each analyst must meet any two of the following guidelines:

  • Read for a studio or accredited production company.
  • Judged a major screenplay competition.
  • Top Ten Finalist in a major screenplay competition.
  • Works as a professional, paid screenwriter.

Everyone has an opinion but our screenplay analysts have a proven track record so you know theirs counts. You may not like what you hear but you'll know that there's some truth in what they say.

Develop your screenplay with penetrating coverage.

BudgetCheetah offers three script coverage options:

  • Premier Coverage - $179
Our in-depth coverage is between 1000-1500 words, spans between 2-3 pages and includes four sections: story evaluation, analyst impressions, development ideas, recommendations and traffic light. If your screenplay receives a "green light" from your analyst, with your permission, we'll pass you on to The Network.

  • Two Analyst Coverage - $299
Every analyst's opinion is different. When you get two coverage reports from two different analysts, you'll receive a 20% discount on the second report. You only need a "green light" from one of your two analysts to be passed on to The Network. Our best value.

  • Repeat Read Coverage - $149
If you've already used our coverage service and revised your script, the same analyst will cover it again (if you've used our Two Analyst Coverage, specify which analyst you prefer). You can use this service as many times as you want, developing your screenplay as you go. This coverage includes only four of the five sections in our Premier Coverage: analyst impressions, development ideas, recommendations and traffic light.
*All figures are in U.S. dollars.
*BudgetCheetah will not accept screenplays over 140 pages.
*BudgetCheetah reserves the right to refuse any submission.
*Prices are subject to change without notice.
